This Triceratops tooth and bone were found in the Hell Creek Formation of North Dakota and are approximately 66 million years old. The bone is unique in that the marrow spaces have been filled with pyrite crystals and the matrix infill sparkles in the light. Triceratops was a large and heavy herbivorous dinosaur with many teeth. After its teeth are worn down by heavy chewing, they are shed and replaced by new ones.
